How to Use the Fiskars ShapeBoss

Using the ShapeBoss is fairly easy but some practice may be necessary to get the best results.

Here, you can see that the ShapeBoss is made up of two layers of templates.

The layers are held in register by the orange pins inserted arould the edges.

Insert the card between the two layers. Remember that the surface you want raised needs to be face down. For help making sure that the card doesn't move, tape the card to the bottom layer with some removable tape. Regardless of the type of tape, pat it on your clothes a few times before using it. The lint from your clothing will prevent the tape from damaging the paper when you remove it. Always test on a scrap piece of the paper/card stock you intend to use first to make sure.

Holding the card in place, use the stylus to trace the outer edges of all desired shapes. This is the part that may require some practice. Rubbing the stylus on waxed paper occasionally helps the pressing go smoother. You may find that making more than one pass with the stylus works best.
