Greeting Card Designed by Ann Rismiller

What you need

  • card stock - brown - 10" x 7" folded to make a 5" x 7" card blank
  • music manuscript paper - 4" x 5"
  • mulberry paper - dark brown or black - 4" x 5"
  • musical instrument-themed scrapbook paper - a 4" or 5" french horn would be good
  • card stock - brown - scrap
  • card stock - gold - scrap
  • music note punch
  • walnut ink and palette or small dish
  • paint brush
  • glue and glue stick
  • heat gun
  • scissors

How to do it

Step 1

Tear an oval out of the music manuscript paper, approximately 3" x 4". Paint the walnut ink over the entire piece.

Step 2

Use the heat gun to brown the edges of the music manuscript paper. If you feel like it, brown some areas on the interior also. Be careful not to let it catch fire.

Step 3

Tear an oval out of the music manuscript paper, approximately 3" x 4". Paint the walnut ink around the edges.

Step 4

Use scissors to cut out the music instrument.

Step 5

Glue the 3 pieces in place as shown in the photo.

Step 6

Use the music notes paper punch to punch out some notes and glue in place as shown in the photo. Notice we used brown ones for the manuscript paper and gold ones for the card blank.
