Greeting Card Project: Dragonfly Dance
What you need
- card stock - dark teal metallic - 6 1/2" x 11" folded to make a 6 1/2" x 5 1/2" card blank
- Mulberry paper - dark blue - 5 1/2" x 4"
- dragonfly rubber stamp (credit Just For Fun)
- grass or pine needles rubber stamp (credit Stampin' Up)
- embossing ink - gold, black
- embossing powder - gold, dark blue
- heat gun
- glue stick
- paper trimmer (optional)
How to do it
Step 1
Use the grass or pine needles stamp to stamp gold along the bottom of the mulberry paper. Glue the mulberry paper to the card front slightly higher than the center.
Step 2
Stamp and emboss three dragonflies onto the card front using the gold powder. Next, use the clear embossing pen to go over parts of the image and use the dark blue powder to emboss. The idea is to have a mix of gold and dark blue. If the heat warps the card, put the card under a weight a few hours or overnight.
Step 3
Use the grass or pine needles stamp to stamp black along the bottom of the card as shown in the photo above. You will probably need to set the ink with the heat gun because the ink won't dry on the metallic card without heat setting it.
