Greeting Card Project: Valentine in Red, White, and Black
What you need
- card stock - 8½" x 5½" folded in half to make a 4¼" x 5½" card blank - white
- card stock - 3" x 3" - red
- mulberry paper - 3½" x 3½" - black
- craft knife, pencil
- embossing ink pad, embossing powder, heat gun
- scissors
- paper trimmer (optional)
- glue
How to do it
Step 1
Cut a window in the card front 2 3/4" x 2 3/4".

Step 2
Cut out of the black mulberry paper a 3 1/4" square. Glue it to the back side of the card front.
Step 3
Click here to go to the heart templates. Print them and cut out #4 with scissors.
Step 4
Place the #4 heart template on the red card stock and trace around it. Cut the heart out of the red card stock (sounds cruel, doesn't it?).
Step 5a
Gently but firmly touch the edges of the heart to the side of the embossing pad and proceed quickly to step 5b (before the ink dries).
Step 5b
Dip the edges of the heart in the embossing powder and heat with the heat gun.
Step 6
Glue the heart onto the black mulberry paper as shown in the picture at the top of this page.
