Greeting Card Project: African Mask

What you need
- card stock - black - 11" x 5 3/4" folded to make a 5 1/2 x 5 3/4" card blank
- clip art - African shield
- paint - Lumiere metallic acrylic - gold
- paint - Lumiere metallic acrylic - red
- glue
- scissors
- cosmetic wedge
- small, stiff paint brush
- raffia
- Adinkra symbols rubber stamps
- paper trimmer (optional)
How to do it
Step 1
Using the small, stiff paint brush, swirl and smear the red paint in an oval area in the center of the card. Refer to the photo above. Feather the edges somewhat.
Step 2
Glue the clip art shield to the center of the card.
Step 3
Using a cosmetic wedge, apply the gold paint to the stamps and stamp the corners of the card as shown in the photo at the top of this page.
Step 4
With the small paint brush, apply gold paint in dots around the shield.
Step 5
With the small paint brush, apply red paint in dots at the top and bottom. Use gold paint to add the hash marks and flourishes.
Step 6
Tie the raffia on as shown in the photo at the top of this page.
